REMBE® rad-net wants to compete for medals at the time trial championships and help shape the road race
The German Road Championships in Linden and Ramstein are on the programme for Team REMBE® rad-net this coming weekend.
On Friday, the individual time trial titles in the U23 and elite classes will be awarded, and on Sunday the riders will also compete in the elite road race.
Team REMBE® rad-net is focussing in particular on the time trial titles - both in the U23 and elite categories. "We want to race for precious metal again, even though we know it will be difficult. But with Bruno Keßler and Leon Arenz, we have two riders who are well suited to the course," says Ralf Grabsch, Sporting Director of Team REMBE® rad-net Oßwald. In recent years, the team has regularly had U23 riders on the podium; last year Moritz Czasa took bronze.
And Team REMBE® rad-net can also count on medal chances in the battle against the elite clock. Miguel Heidemann would even like to fulfil his dream of winning the title after taking bronze in 2024 and silver in 2023 and 2021.
In the elite road race, the REMBE® rad-net riders are more likely to be outsiders, although the difficult course around Linden favours Johannes Adamietz, for example, as a strong climber. However, WorldTour pros such as Maximilian Schachmann (Soudal-Quick Step), Lennard Kämna (Lidl-Trek), Emanuel Buchmann (Cofidis) and Nico Denz (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe) will probably be racing for the title. "But we want to be present and show ourselves. We want to take part in the race, occupy the early breakaway groups and sell ourselves as well as possible."
The individual time trial starts at 15:45 and covers 22 kilometres and 287 metres in altitude; the climb to the Potzberg is particularly striking. The road race starts on Sunday at 12.15 pm. The 19.8-kilometre circuit will then cover 198 kilometres. The route is quite demanding, with 370 metres of elevation gain per lap, the climb out of Linden being the most difficult.
