REMBE® rad-net women aim for the top ten in Belgium
After a short summer break, the REMBE® rad-net women's team is back on the international circuit this week.
With the Egmont Cycling Race Women (UCI 1.1), the GP Lucien Van Impe (UCI 1.Pro), and the Konvert Kortrijk Koerse (UCI 1.1), the female cyclists will compete in three races in Belgium.
“We definitely have a strong team lined up. As always, we want to be represented in the groups, and I think both races will ultimately come down to a sprint from a larger group,” says Sebastian Ventker, sports director of Team REMBE® rad-net women. The team can count on fast riders like Lisa Klein, Hannah Kunz, and Franziska Brauße. “In these highly competitive races, a top-15 finish is definitely within reach; the top ten would be even better—and fantastic.” The women of REMBE® rad-net women will face top riders such as former world champion Elisa Balsamo (Lidl-Trek) and Charlotte Kool (Fenix-Premier Tech), among others.
The Egmont Cycling Race Women takes place today, Tuesday, and covers 130 kilometers around Zottegem, featuring several minor climbs. The 140-kilometer GP Lucien Van Impe, which starts and finishes in Erpe-Mere, includes several climbs in the first half but flattens out toward the finish the following day. The Konvert Kortrijk Koerse, which circles the city of Kortrijk, features relatively flat terrain and ends after 128 kilometers.
