However, Julian Borresch lost his purple leader’s jersey in the men’s ‘Müller – Die lila Logistik Rad-Bundesliga’.
Brauße rode solo to victory in the women’s 60-kilometre race, which was not a Bundesliga points race. She won with a lead of 2 minutes and 11 seconds over a four-strong chasing group. From that group, her REMBE® rad-net women team-mate Kunz sprinted to second place.
For the men, the league race covered 200 kilometres. Around the halfway point, the peloton split. At the front were 30 riders led by Borresch and his REMBE® rad-net team-mates Miguel Heidemann, Roger Kluge and Leopold Beirig, who decided the race amongst themselves. In the sprint finish, Borresch finished in twelfth place, whilst Jonathan Rottmann (Lotto-Kern-Haus-Outlet Montabaur) won the race. His team-mate Eike Behrens took third place, thereby taking the overall lead from Borresch.
However, it is a tight race at the top of the general classification. Borresch is just 43 points behind Behrens – and two races in Langenweißbach and Sebnitz are still to come in mid-September. The winner receives 210 points, so everything is still to play for.
