Adamietz second in Gippingen, Theiler extends Bundesliga lead - Groß Derny vice-champion

Ole Theiler from Team REMBE® rad-net has extended his lead in the "Müller - Die lila Logistik Rad-Bundesliga".

At the classification race in Gippingen in Switzerland, he finished fifth, while team-mate Johannes Adamietz came second. Felix Groß from Team REMBE® rad-net also became German runner-up behind the derny.
REMBE® rad-net took to the front of the field early on and set the pace. This and the selective 10.1 kilometre lap decimated the peloton early on. However, a decision was only made on the last lap. A six-man group with the two REMBE® rad-net riders Adamietz and Theiler was able to break away on the climb. In the sprint uphill, only the Swiss rider Valentin Darbellay (Elite Fondations) was faster than Adamietz.

Fifth place was enough for Theiler to not only defend his lead in the overall standings of the national cycling league, but even extend it. "Of course, I'm delighted to have defended the jersey and extended my lead. It can go on like this," said a delighted Theiler. With 535 points, he is now ahead of his team-mate Adamietz, who improved to second place with 420 points. Miguel Heidemann (389) and Julian Borresch (335) are two more REMBE® rad-net riders in third and fourth place. Jonathan Rottmann also defended his top position in the sprint classification, while Miguel Heidemann took the lead jersey from Adamietz in the mountain classification. In the team classification, REMBE® rad-net also extended its lead with victory in the day's classification and remains ahead of Lotto-Kern-Haus-PSD Bank and Benotti-Berthold.

The day before, Team REMBE® rad-net took part in the Grand Prix of the Canton of Aargau (UCI 1.1) on the spot. Jermaine Zemke was part of the day's breakaway group.

At the same time, REMBE® rad-net rider Felix Groß took the silver medal at the German Derny Championships in Erfurt. While Madison world champion Tom Torn Teutenberg (Lidl-Trek) was unbeatable and won with a lap lead, Groß and pacemaker Florian Podlesch secured second place with an attack 16 laps from the end. "I'm very happy with that, because I knew from the start that everyone behind Tim would only be racing for silver. I gambled everything on the last four kilometres - the pursuit distance - because I knew that I could hold out," said Groß.
