REMBE® rad-net starts at Rund um Köln and in Japan this weekend
Two highlights await Team REMBE® rad-net this coming weekend: One part of the team will start at the German cycling classic Rund um Köln (UCI 1.1), another part will contest the eight-day Tour of Japan (UCI 2.2) starting on Sunday.
At Rund um Köln, the REMBE® rad-net riders can compete with professionals from six WorldTour teams and six ProTeams.
The German classic, which is in its 107th edition and will be streamed live in its entirety, starts on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in Cologne and then leads over 181 kilometres and around 1850 metres of elevation gain through the Bergisches Land back to Cologne. Highlights include the mountain classifications on the Agathaberg, in Sand and at Bensberg Castle.
Team REMBE® rad-net is entering the race with a relatively young team. ‘Nevertheless, we want to show our presence in the groups and be there until the final. With Bruno Keßler and Jonathan Rottmann, we have two fast men with us should it come to a sprint decision,’ says Wolfgang Oschwald, Sporting Director of Team REMBE® rad-net.
The Tour of Japan lasts a total of eight days and begins with a prologue in Sakai. In the following days, flat to hilly stages are on the programme, which will suit riders such as Miguel Heidemann and Jon Knolle. The queen stage follows on day six with a mountain finish on the famous Mount Fuji, which could well be a challenge for mountain specialist Johannes Adamietz. The finish will be reached after a total of 769.5 kilometres in Tokai with another flat stage.
