REMBE® rad-net competes with WorldTour pros in Switzerland and races for Bundesliga points

Team REMBE® rad-net will be travelling twice in Switzerland next weekend.

Team REMBE® rad-net will start in Switzerland in the coming days
On Friday, the riders will contest the Grand Prix of the Canton of Aargau (UCI 1.1), followed the next day by the next race of the "Müller - Die lila Logistik Rad-Bundesliga" in Gippingen.
The REMBE® rad-net riders will face no fewer than eight WorldTour teams and six ProTeams at the 173.8 kilometre GP Aargau. Riders such as Richard Carapaz, Thibau Nys, Michael Matthews, Matej Mohoric, Marc Hirschi and Alberto Bettiol as well as top German stars such as Georg Zimmermann, Lennard Kämna and Felix Engelhardt are on the entry list. Some of the teams and riders are travelling through to the Tour de Suisse, where they want to prepare for the Tour de France. "It's an honour for our riders to compete with such great professionals," says Ralf Grabsch, Sports Director at REMBE® rad-net. "Nevertheless, we don't want to hide and present ourselves in the best possible light."

The following day, the third round of the German Cycling League is on the programme, which, as in previous years, will once again make a detour to Switzerland. The riders have to complete 15 laps of the 10.1 kilometre circuit, covering 151.5 kilometres. A two-kilometre climb awaits immediately after the start, followed by a flat finish. The course has proven to be quite selective in recent years - and that suits the REMBE® rad-net riders such as Johannes Adamietz, Julian Borresch, Jon Knolle, Miguel Heidemann and the wearer of the purple leader's jersey Ole Theiler. But REMBE® rad-net is not only ahead in the overall standings: it is also in first place in the team standings as well as in the junior classification with Pepe Albrecht, in the sprint classification with Jonathan Rottmann and in the mountain classification with Adamietz. "Of course we want to defend the purple jersey and, ideally, extend our lead and keep the other jerseys as well," says Grabsch.

At the same time as the races in Gippingen, the German Derny Championship will be taking place at the Erfurt race track. Felix Groß, a rider from the REMBE® rad-net team, will also be competing there. He won the bronze medal last year. He is also one of the medal contenders this year. His biggest rival is likely to be Madison world champion Tim Torn Teutenberg.

Last week, the REMBE® rad-net riders were in action at the Tour of Lithuania. Rottmann sprinted into the top ten twice and Ole Theiler secured the sprint jersey. But Grabsch admitted: "We're not entirely satisfied with that, we had hoped for more." Leon Arenz, who was involved in a crash on the fourth stage and suffered a collarbone fracture, was very unlucky. The 19-year-old, who has already undergone successful surgery, is unfortunately out for the upcoming races.
