REMBE® rad-net competes in the Tour of Lithuania for the first time
The riders of the REMBE® rad-net team will also be travelling internationally in the coming days.
After competing in the Oberösterreichrundfahrt (UCI 2.2) last week, the Tour of Lithuania (UCI 2.2) is on the programme from tomorrow.
Johannes Adamietz finished twelfth overall in the Tour of Upper Austria, Ole Theiler was 14th overall. On the final stage, Adamietz kept up with the best for a long time on the almost ten-kilometre-long final climb with an average gradient of 8.4 per cent, but had to let go a few kilometres before the finish, leaving him in twelfth place ahead of Theiler. Adamietz had finished ninth at the start of the tour, an uphill section of only 4.3 kilometres.
Theiler will also take part in the Tour of Lithuania. He leads the team, which is completed by Leon Arenz, Jon Knolle, Jonathan Rottmann and Jermaine Zemke. The five-day stage race starts in Klaipeda on the Baltic Sea and ends on Sunday in the capital Vilnius. The 150 to 170 kilometre-long sections all lead over flat to undulating terrain, making them suitable for puncheurs and sprinters.
"We have travelled to Lithuania with a strong team. With Jonathan Rottmann, we have a very fast man with us who can definitely compete for top placings in sprint decisions. And the other four are also in good form and capable of filling groups and achieving good placings," says Ralf Grabsch, Sporting Director of Team REMBE® rad-net.
