Miguel Heidemann joins the REMBE® rad-net team
Dem Team REMBE® rad-net ist ein weiterer Transfercoup gelungen und hat Miguel Heidemann verpflichtet.
The 27-year-old wants to make the most of his opportunity in the unique structure of the REMBE® rad-net team and will be travelling on both road and track in the future.
A fortnight ago, Team REMBE® rad-net announced the transfer of Johannes Adamietz, and now Heidemann is another rider who has already competed at the highest level and celebrated several international successes. Heidemann rode for ProTeam B&B Hotels-KTM in 2022, but the team was closed at the end of the season. He then took a step back to Leopard-TOGT and Felt-Felbermayr respectively and has now decided to join Team REMBE® rad-net.
"I am very grateful to have found a home at REMBE® rad-net. One thing led to another at the end of last year. My third team in three years had gone bankrupt, but I want to try my luck on the track in the future and continue to seek my fortune in road races and time trials. That's why it made sense to switch to Team REMBE® rad-net," says Heidemann, explaining his decision.
The 27-year-old is regarded as a very strong time trialist and has also celebrated his greatest successes in this discipline. He was twice German time trial champion in the U23 class. At the 2020 European Championships, he won the European title with the German mixed relay team, followed by European silver in 2021 and European bronze in 2023. In 2024, the relay team with Heidemann even missed out on the World Championship title by just eight tenths of a second and had to settle for silver after winning bronze the year before. Accordingly, he sees his potential on the track particularly in the team pursuit, where he has already completed promising training sessions with his future REMBE® rad-net team-mates.
That shows: Heidemann is a true team player. That's why he wants to take on the role of road captain for Team REMBE® rad-net in the future, without losing sight of his own ambitions for results. "I also want to pass on my experience to the younger athletes,’ says the Trier native, who knows that he too can still learn. "I'll be the new kid on the track and hope to benefit from the experience of others there." Miguel Heidemann's big goal for 2025 is the German Time Trial Championships and the World Championships in the mixed relay. "I'm only missing one medal in the collection, and that's a gold medal at the World Championships. I already have a full set of European Championship medals and last year we narrowly missed out on the World Championship title. I would gladly accept the challenge." On the track, the qualified engineer is baking smaller rolls for the time being: "I want to establish myself in the squad and earn my place."
"We are delighted to be able to strengthen our team with such a racing driver. We knew that Miguel was still without a team for 2025 and did everything we could to offer him a place. It's a win-win situation for both of us, because Miguel can continue to race at a high level and we have another very strong performer in our ranks," says Managing Director Ulrich Müller. "With Miguel, the team is even more broadly based and with him as a top time trialist and rouleur, we can once again be at the front on a different terrain. With him, we are hopefully one step closer to our goal of being a ProTeam in the future."
