Madison title for Kluge/Teutenberg - foursome win silver and bronze
Title number two for Team REMBE® rad-net at the German Track Championships in Dudenhofen: Roger Kluge won the two-man team race with Tim Torn Teutenberg.
There was also silver and bronze in the team pursuit.
Kluge and Teutenberg, who went into the two-man team race as reigning world champions, lived up to their role as favourites. Apart from a moment of carelessness at the start, they always had the race under control and won by a clear margin with 45 points ahead of Moritz Augenstein/Moritz Malcharek (31) and Max-David Briese/Tobias Müller (28). ‘It was a tough race, I'm glad we only had to drive 100 laps,’ said Teutenberg. At the start, Kluge/Teutenberg were briefly caught off guard. "The attack by Moritz and Moritz was very good, I hadn't expected that. But over the distance we were able to assert ourselves and control the race," said Kluge.
Kluge had previously ridden to silver in the team pursuit with his REMBE® rad-net team-mates Miguel Heidemann and Felix Groß as well as the two guest riders Moritz Augenstein (qualification) and Franz Groß (final). The second REMBE® rad-net foursome with Leon Arenz, Moritz Binder, Benjamin Boos and guest rider Louis Gentzik secured the bronze medal. Meanwhile, the title went to the NRW state association with Max-David Briese, Ben-Felix Jochum, Lucas Liß, Tobias Müller and Tim Torn Teutenberg after setting the fastest time in the preliminary round.
Felix Groß also achieved a good result in the 1000 metre time trial. With a strong time of 1:03.887 minutes, he took fifth place against the short-time specialists.
Tomorrow is the last day of competition in the endurance field at the title fights in Dudenhofen. The scratch and points race will be decided there. Only Roger Kluge and Felix Groß will then represent the colours of the REMBE® rad-net team. The U23 riders will be travelling to the U23 road championships, which will take place on Sunday.
