REMBE® rad-net is looking forward to the Tour of Germany
The REMBE® rad-net team will be competing in the Lidl Deutschland-Tour (UCI 2.Pro) next week.
The REMBE® rad-net team will be there, and they have big plans for the five-day tour, which also passes through the Sauerland region.
"We want to be in the breakaway groups, but we also want to achieve a good result in at least one stage," says Wolfgang Oschwald, sporting director of the REMBE® rad-net team. And he can count on a strong team led by Roger Kluge as road captain. Jonathan Rottmann is the man for sprint finishes, Johannes Adamietz is the specialist for mountainous sections. Miguel Heidemann, Jon Knolle and Ole Theiler are all comfortable on a wide variety of terrain. And all six want to put their best foot forward in Germany's most important stage race.
The Deutschland Tour begins today with a 3.1-kilometre prologue in Essen. The next day, the stage covers 203 kilometres to Herford, where a sprint finish is expected, as is the case on the 164-kilometre final stage from Halle (Saale) to Magdeburg.
And in between, there are two very special stages for the Sauerland team: on the third day, the route goes from Herford over 190 kilometres to Arnsberg, the home of the REMBE® rad-net team. The following day, the third stage will also start in Arnsberg and then lead over 176 kilometres to Kassel. "We are of course particularly looking forward to this, that's no secret. We expect lots of fans on the side of the road cheering us on. We want to give something back to them, of course," says Oschwald.
At the Lidl Deutschland Tour, the REMBE® rad-net riders will face top professionals such as Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike), Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) and Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers), as well as John Degenkolb (Picnic-PostNL) and Pascal Ackermann (Israel-Premier Tech).
