Keßler strong sixth at Youngster Coast Challenge

Bruno Keßler from Team REMBE® rad-net took a very strong sixth place in the Youngster Coast Challenge (UCI 1.2U), which was held as part of the Bredene Koksijde Classic professional race.

However, the race did not get off to the best start for Keßler. The early stages were characterised by several crashes, two of which involved the 19-year-old. But he did not give up, gradually making up ground with a group and reaching the second group in the race shortly before the Kemmelberg, one of the executioners of the 171 kilometre race.
There, the group split up again and set off in pursuit of the first group - including Keßler. They also caught up with them, so that the REMBE® rad-net rider was still able to take part in the final.

Shortly before the finish, Keßler then took control of the race himself and attacked alone, but was caught within the last kilometre. Nevertheless, he had enough strength to sprint along and finished the race in sixth place. The winner was Sente Sentjens (Alpecin-Deceuninck Development Team) ahead of Emmanuel Houcou (Arkéa-B&B Hotels Continentale) and Liam van Bylen (Lotto Development Team).

"I'm definitely happy with the result - especially after the way the race went," said Keßler at the finish. And Wolfgang Oschwald, Sporting Director of the REMBE® rad-net team, said: "A top ten finish in this highly competitive race is really great. Bruno rode a strong and above all spirited race."

Meanwhile, Moritz Binder from Team REMBE® rad-net had bad luck, as he was also involved in a crash. He had to be taken to hospital. The diagnosis is still pending.
