Mauro Brenner and Ole Theiler played a key role in shaping the Gippingen Grand Prix.
U23 champion Mauro Brenner won the mountains classification, whilst Ole Theiler was named the most combative rider.
In the 174-kilometre Swiss one-day race, the REMBE® rad-net riders came up against a number of strong professionals from World and ProTeams. Nevertheless, they managed to make their mark on the race. With Brenner and Theiler, they were represented by two riders in the day’s eight-man breakaway group, which had formed after just ten kilometres. Along the way, Brenner diligently collected mountain points and clinched the overall classification. However, with 50 kilometres still to go, the breakaway riders were caught again.

As a result, the peloton was whittled down to around 30 riders, including Jermaine Zemke and Johannes Adamietz from Team REMBE® rad-net. However, both were involved in a crash ten kilometres from the finish and were forced to abandon the race. Whilst Zemke sustained grazes and bruises, Adamietz also suffered a concussion. Julian Borresch was the best-placed REMBE® rad-net rider, finishing in 47th place.
