“Powerhouse” Borresch climbs to sixth place in the rankings
Despite Dominik Weiss' withdrawal, the 4th stage of the Tour de Taiwan (2.1) was successful for the Rembe Pro Cycling Team Sauerland.

After 167.2 challenging kilometers, Julian Borresch reached the finish at Sun Moon Lake in eighth place and thus improved to sixth place in the overall ranking.
"The last climb was pretty even, it wasn't too steep, so that even strong climbers could follow the easy climbers. I told Borri that he should follow up on every attack," reported his sports director Greg Henderson.
The German made it into the nine-man leading group, which clinched the victory. “For the sprint, we decided that Borri should stick to the rear wheel of Aaron Gates (who came fourth on the day, editor). Borri did that well, but then he forgot to pass Gates,” joked the New Zealanders.
The Australian Carter Bettles (Roojai Insurance) took the day's victory ahead of the Swiss Valentin Darbellay (Corratec - Vini Fantini) and the British Joseph Blackmore (Israel - Premier Tech). Borresch's teammates Paul Wright and Henri Appelbaum reached the finish line one minute behind in the first chasing group around the previous overall leader Mason Hollyman (Israel - Premier Tech).
Before the final day, a full eleven seconds separated Borresch from Spaniard Ivan Cobo (Equipo Kern Pharma), who moved from third to first place in the ranking. On the 5th stage there are likely to be further attacks on undulating terrain with a climb in the 2nd category. “Some drivers could try to get back the position they lost in the GC today. We have to drive smart,” emphasized Henderson.
