Ole Theiler takes first win of the season for REMBE^® rad-net

After just five kilometres of the 127-kilometre race, which was characterised by constant rain, Theiler had broken away from the field on his own and was alone for a long time before four riders caught up with him after around 60 kilometres - including Knolle and Julian Borresch, two other riders from REMBE^® rad-net. Theiler and the Mallorcan racer Francesc Bennassar (Club Ciclista Padronés-Cortizo) later broke away and decided the victory between themselves. ‘I couldn't get away from him over the hills, so I put everything into the final sprint,’ said Theiler, who won by several metres.

Knolle crossed the finish line 20 seconds behind Theiler in third place. With Miguel Heidemann, Johannes Adamietz and Julian Borresch in sixth to eighth place, three more REMBE^® rad-net riders finished in the top ten.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the second part of the Mallorcan race series, which consists of a total of five races, is on the programme. It will cover 103 kilometres around Santa Margalida. There, Theiler will start in the yellow jersey of the overall leader. Team REMBE^® rad-net will be taking part in a training camp on Mallorca in the coming days and using the races as preparation for the season.
