While Miguel Heidemann won the race as a soloist, Ole Theiler defended his overall lead.
After around ten kilometres of the 103-kilometre race, Heidemann broke away from the field on his own and rode solo at the front for a while. He was later joined by a larger group, which also included some of his REMBE® rad-net team-mates.
In the final, Heidemann still had enough strength left to attack again. He broke away alone and was never caught on the steep final climb up to Santa Margalida. The 27-year-old crossed the finish line 24 seconds ahead of the two Spaniards Roberto Ledesma and Jordi Artigues. With Vincent John in fourth place, another REMBE® rad-net rider finished in the top ten.
Ole Theiler, who won yesterday's race in Arta, finished in 30th place and thus retained the overall lead. He is still two seconds ahead of local racer Francesc Bennassar. Theiler is also the leader in the overall standings and the REMBE® rad-net team is in first place in the team classification. "Un Hivern a Mallorca" will continue next Saturday with a race around Cala Millor. In the days in between, training days are on the programme for the REMBE® rad-net riders.
