Kluge European champions in the team pursuit - REMBE® rad-net athletes impress at European Track Championships

REMBE® rad-net rider Roger Kluge has once again become European champion in the two-man team pursuit.

At the championships in Konya, Turkey, he and Moritz Augenstein (RSV Irschenberg) won the title in convincing fashion – giving himself a wonderful gift for his 40th birthday.
Right from the start, Kluge/Augenstein collected points in the sprint classifications and, before the halfway point of the race, they had already secured their first lap win, putting them at the top of the rankings. With another lap win shortly afterwards, they were difficult for their competitors to catch up with. After their dominant performance, Kluge/Augenstein won with 85 points, 30 points ahead of Portugal. Belgium took third place with 38 points.

"We were aware that we were among the favourites and that the competition would be watching us. Nevertheless, our goal was clearly to win a medal. I never would have thought that we would win this title so convincingly. We had a tactic that we were able to implement one-to-one," said Roger Kluge, delighted with his sixth European Championship title and fifth in the Madison.

The results were positive for the cyclists of the REMBE® rad-net team. In addition to the two medals won by Roger Kluge, who had already won bronze in the omnium the day before, Franziska Brauße, Lisa Klein and Laura Süßemilch were delighted with their silver in the team pursuit. Klein also finished fifth in the individual pursuit with a German record (4:27.924 minutes). Max-David Briese also finished fifth in the scratch race. Briese had previously set a German record (3:45.853 minutes) in the team pursuit with his REMBE® rad-net teammate Benjamin Boos. Boos finished 13th in the individual pursuit.
