Rottmann sprints into the top ten at the Umag Trophy
Team REMBE® rad-net got the international road season off to a good start.
Jonathan Rottmann sprinted to tenth place at the Umag Classic (UCI 1.2) in Croatia.
After 142.3 undulating kilometres around Umag, the victory was decided in the sprint of a peloton decimated to around 70 riders. ‘For the first race, the boys rode a great lead-out for Jonathan,’ praised Ralf Grabsch, Sporting Director of Team REMBE® rad-net. As a result, Rottmann was able to secure his first top ten finish, while Matthias Schwarzbacher (UAE-Team Emirates-Gen Z) won ahead of Filippo Fortin (Solution Tech-Vini Fantini) and Tobias Pawlak (Voster-ATS).
Team REMBE® rad-net had already played a decisive role in the race. Johannes Adamietz was in the breakaway with another rider from kilometre 40 onwards. However, the duo was dropped again before the finale.
Another one-day race in Croatia is on the programme on Sunday with the Porec Trophy (UCI 1.2).
