Rottmann sprints into the top 5 again in Croatia - "Super placings achieved"
At the end of the Istrian Spring Trophy (UCI 2.2), the REMBE® rad-net team once again achieved a good result.
Jonathan Rottmann finished in fifth place, confirming his results of the past few days. Team REMBE® rad-net also just missed out on the top ten overall with Johannes Adamietz.
The day's victory was decided in a bunch sprint on the 118-kilometre stage from Pazin to Umag. Dusan Rajovic (Solution Tech-Vini Fantini) was fastest ahead of Callum Thornley (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe Rookies) and Matteo Milan (Lidl-Trek Future Racing). Rottmann finished fifth after narrowly missing out on the podium in fourth place on the first stage of the four-day stage race. At the start of the races in Croatia, the 20-year-old had also achieved another top ten finish with tenth place in the one-day Umag Classic.
In the overall standings, Johannes Adamietz was the best rider for Team REMBE® rad-net. He finished in 15th place, just seven seconds behind the top ten. He had finished a good twelfth place on yesterday's queen stage with a mountain finish in Motovun and thus worked his way up in the overall standings. The overall victory went to Adrien Boichis (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe Rookies).
"We have achieved great results here in Croatia and can draw a very good conclusion. Not only were the results good, we also rode really well as a team. We can build on this with the appropriate self-confidence and morale," said a very satisfied Ralf Grabsch, Sporting Director of Team REMBE® rad-net.
At the same time, several riders from the REMBE® rad-net team took part in the circuit race in Herford this Sunday. Jon Knolle was able to break away with a leading group of three and finished second, beaten only by Sebastian Niehues (Kern Haus). Luca Bockelmann (Siena Garden Racing) came third.
