REMBE® rad-net registers women's team with UCI

The male cyclists of the REMBE® rad-net team are getting female teammates: the Sauerland-based team has registered a women's continental team with the International Cycling Union (UCI).

REMBE® rad-net is thus continuously expanding its commitment together with its long-standing partner.
"We will pursue the same philosophy with the women's team as we do with the men's team," explained managing director Ulrich Müller. "As with Team REMBE® rad-net, the focus is on promoting young German talent and female track cyclists. We want to offer young female athletes a platform to help them make it to the top."

The reason for founding the team is, on the one hand, that international teams have disbanded and, on the other hand, that there are too few places for young talents in existing teams. As a result, many female riders do not have the ideal environment for further development. "It would be a shame to lose so many talented riders, so with the help of some of our partners, we have found a solution for setting up a women's team," said team manager Jörg Scherf.

REMBE® Managing Director Stefan Penno said: "We are proud to be able to make our small but significant contribution to the further development of women's cycling in the future. This is a clear statement in support of women's power and Germany as a sporting nation. It's time for us to start winning again, and at the highest international level."

The team name and composition will be announced in the coming days.
