At the Tour of Romania, Paul Wright from REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland brought his red jersey of the best sprinter to the finish line. Things went just as well for his young team colleague Henri Appelbaum. He was able to defend his 10th place in the overall ranking, which he had fought for in the mountain stages. After the five stages from Alba Julia to Bucharest, the East Westphalian was only 1:38 minutes behind the Kazakh Ilkhan Dostiyev from the Astana Team. “We have achieved our goals for the race,” said sporting director Greg Henderson with satisfaction. “Where we could have been at the front, we were there. Of course we would have been happy with a stage win, but for that we would have had to have a pure sprinter in the team,” added the New Zealander.

The REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland celebrated another notable success in the team ranking. Here they ended up in second place, just behind Team Astana Quazaqstan. In addition to Paul Wright and Henri Appelbaum, Silas Koech, Jacob Scott, Sebastian Niehues and Lennart Voege represented the Sauerland colors in Romania. For Lennart Voege it was the first start after his serious fall in the summer. After an accident, the man from Norden had to undergo an operation on his arm and was in good shape considering the circumstances
