The REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland returns from the high-ranked international Mallorca Challenge 2024 with positive results and strengthened team spirit
The team has collected important kilometres in recent days and presented itself as a competitive force despite the strong competition.
The Mallorca Challenge, known for its challenging stages and top-class field of participants, was an ideal opportunity for the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland to compete with leading teams and test the form for the 2024 season. Under the leadership of team managers Wolfgang Oschwald and Greg Henderson, the drivers of the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland proved their class on five challenging racedays. Despite the starting world elite, the youngsters were able to assert themselves on the picturesque roads of Mallorca and gained a lot of experience.
Director of Team Performance, Greg Henderson, expressed satisfaction with the Attitude of his team: "The Mallorca Challenge is traditionally a very demanding race, and I am proud of how our team has taken up to this challenge. We have not only collected important shown up among the Big Boys, but also shown that we can function well as a team and keep up with the best." Wolfgang Oschwald further added: "The fact that no front placement has jumped out in the races dominated by World-Tour teams must not bother us any further. If our very young talents around Henri Appelbaum, Julian Borresch, Sebastian Niehues and Co keep up with the best not only at the mountain stages for a long time and finish the race, this is already a success."
This year, the Mallorca Tour was characterised by mountainous stages in the west of the island. The Puig Major, known among cyclists, was driven twice. On three of five stages, the international peloton completed numerous vertical metres at the start of the season. Among the 22 teams, 18 WorldTour and Pro teams were represented. Consequently, the German Equipe from the Region of Sauerland had the Underdog role but developed an Appetite for more.
After the race on the beautiful Spanish Island it goes on after a breather from February 08th with the Tour of Antalya in Turkey.
