Double victory for the REMBE Pro Cycling™Team Sauerland on the Bilster Berg race track in Bad Driburg: With Sebastian Niehues and Silas Koech, the REMBE Pro Cycling™Team Sauerland won the NRW Mountain Championship held at Bilster Berg on Easter Monday.
In the race over almost 85 kilometers, both were able to break away from the peloton early on and claimed victory between themselves during the difficult uphill and downhill journey. While Sebastian Niehues secured the title in the elite class, Silas Koech won the gold medal in the separately ranked U23 category. The success was completed by Henri Appelbaum's runner-up finish in the “U23”. The strenuous up and down journey was characterized by rain and cool temperatures. Although the Sauerlanders only started with three men, they were the dominant team and started early the offensive. All other drivers on the home team continued to prepare at home for the coming weekend. Then, in silence, the Bundesliga opener of the young season will take place on Saturday.
