REMBE® is the main sponsor of the Pro Cycling Team Sauerland

REMBE® GmbH Safety+Control is the new main sponsor and premium partner of Team Sauerland. "We are very pleased that we were able to conclude a close and long-term partnership with a successful company like REMBE®. The relationship that has existed for a long time is thus raised to a new level," says Heiko Volkert, one of the managers of Team Sauerland.
The traditional Brilon company REMBE® already accompanied the young team last year. For the time being, the agreement was reached until 2026. From the 1st January 2024, the home team will start under the name REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland.

Stefan Penno, CEO of REMBE® GmbH Safety+Control: "Racing is in the REMBE® DNA. My father and I already drove a lot in the eighties. The highlights were two long distances from Brilon to Bolzano with corresponding Alpine crossings. At that time, everything was still with dillettant equipment, paper street maps, cash in several currencies and passports torn by rain, which we had to show at the top of the Brenner."

Team manager Jörg Scherf is also enthusiastic: "As a family business with 50 years of experience, REMBE® is linked to both tradition and innovation. These are values that we also want to see in our team. The first meetings have already brought in a lot of fresh air and our visions are the same. That motivates us a lot." The squad goes into the 2024 season almost unchanged. "We have perfectly mastered the upheaval with the very young athletes. Especially in the second half of the season, our youngsters delivered very well, the highlight was the Deutschland Tour in which almost no attack in the race ran without a Sauerländer and we were able to collect plenty of TV minutes. This spurs us on, enthuses Wolfgang Oschwald, sporting director and NRW state coach.

The engine and link between REMBE® and Team Sauerland has been Bernd Sudhoff, Managing Director of the sister company REMBE® Kersting GmbH, for many years and says: "We also want to encourage our REMBE® family members (RFM) to move more with this commitment. Cycling is pretty much the healthiest thing you can do to your body and mind."

Since his birth, Bernd Sudhoff has been a member of a cycling club, where his father was chaired. "We participated in many events and so it happened that I also took my nap in the parked banana box in the food tent." At the age of ten, Bernd Sudhoff himself became active on the road bike and competed in the first races. Courses with the NRW squad and many laps on the cycling track in the Dortmund Westfalenhalle were among them. In the junior class, he drove the German Radbundesliga with the team of RC Victoria Neheim with some successes. The captain at the time was Marcel Sieberg (later driver of the sprints for Andre Greipel at the Tour de France).

Until shortly before the end of his mechanical engineering studies, he was active in cycling and then exchanged the saddle for his career. "However, cycling always had a place in my life and I supported my wife in the mountain bike marathon races as a mechanic and supervisor. It became quieter with the children, but they also found fun in cycling and successfully participate in the tours of the Team Langenbergmarathon Kids in Bruchhausen. REMBE® lives cycling in different places - both in clubs and as part of the REMBikE Kidstrophy, the REMBikE Festival and now also as a supporter of the young professionals of Team Sauerland.

Bernd continues: "Every cyclist has the dream of riding the Tour de France at some point. If you have experienced this as a spectator on the side of the road, you also know why it is so. I have already been allowed to participate in the Tour de France of mountain bikers, the Cape Epic in South Africa. Maybe we will also be able to participate in the Tour de France with the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland. In any case, it is a desirable goal."
