Julian Borresch shines with 7th place at the DM in Bad Dürrheim: REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland is catching up in the Bundesliga
Once again Julian Borresch was able to impress with a strong performance at the German Road Championships.
In the time trial last Friday, the U23 driver from the Sauerland racing team took a great 7th place. In the professional road race, the youngster achieved another notable success with 28th place. Both competitions took place on challenging routes between Donaueschingen and Bad Dürrheim.
While a distance of almost 30 kilometers had to be covered in the fight against the clock, Germany's elite had to complete 210 kilometers in the race on Sunday. The championship was all about form tests for the Tour de France and qualifications for the Olympics. Emirates professional Nils Politt became German time trial champion. Marco Brenner from the Tudor Cycling Team won gold in the road race. In the Bundesliga overall ranking, the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team is gradually approaching the minimum goal of the season: the team is only two points away from the podium. “We had a good weekend. The whole team worked well for Captain Borresch, especially in the road race. Somewhat in his slipstream, Henri Appelbaum also had a great day. Unfortunately, he suffered a defect towards the end of the race and ended up “only” crossing the finish line in 51st place,” said coach Wolfgang Oschwald, drawing a good conclusion after the DM weekend. The Sauerlanders are now eagerly awaiting the “small” championship for U23 drivers. This will take place in Bruchsal next week.
