Cycling Team Sauerland is preparing intensively for the season in Mallorca
The REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland is currently in the final phase of preparations for the upcoming cycling season. The team has decided on a demanding training camp in Mallorca, which will last until January 18th.
The team is currently completing tough training sessions on the picturesque island that last up to seven hours per day. This intensive preparation is intended to ensure that the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland is in top shape for the challenges of the coming season. So now it's time to concentrate fully on training, recovery and good nutrition.
A highlight of the spring will be the first race of the season, the Tour of Mallorca. This will take place from January 24th to 28th. The so-called Mallorca Challenge promises exciting competitions, as the team meets international elite and the young team competes against numerous top professionals. We continue in February with the Tour of Antalya in Turkey. The exact racing program will be announced after the training camp.
Team coach Wolfgang Oschwald was optimistic about the status of the preparations: “Our athletes have worked hard, preparing individually for the season, and the training camp in Mallorca offers the perfect opportunity to grow as a team and perfect the final details. We are looking forward to the upcoming season and are confident that we will achieve great results with this committed and talented team.”
Almost all members of the REMBE Pro Cycling™ Team Sauerland take part in the training camp, which underlines the team strength and the common focus on the season's goals. Only the students Tom and Lukas van der Valk are preparing for their first men's season and their Abitur at home. Top performer Silas Koech is still taking part in a few cross races and is hoping for a place at the World Championships in the Czech Republic at the end of January.
On the island, the Sauerlanders are looked after by the new sporting director Greg Henderson and David König from Eslohe. The local cracks had to do without the veteran Wolfgang Oschwald, who will later join the team due to illness.
